In my last post I promised that I would tell you how my first week on the diet went.
I made a couple of observations during last week when I started phase 1 of the high protein diet. I was a little scared I would not make it but perseverance pays and in my case, even with some sinning along the way, all went well.
How did I sin :-)? Well, right on my first day of the first week on the diet – Monday – I felt very sorry for 6 squares of chocolate that I found in my bedtime drawer. I did not want to throw them out so I ate them. Suffice to say I have not eaten anything sweet since that day and do not have any sugar cravings.
Sugar craving can be a major problem for some as the diet is basically a sugar detox, too. And quite a strict one on top.
I also realized that several times I simply ate a piece of a cake that the kids left lying around from breakfast time – too small to throw to the bin. Automatic behavior and conditioning that one does not bin food. I am now aware of this and have it under control.
Vegetables generally taste great raw or cooked or grilled so I am happy. I am a vegie lover though :-).
Now… protein… I got myself unflavoured whey protein and some flavdrops to make it taste better, and guess what? It is quite sweet on its own so sometines I do not use any artificial flavouring. However, for java lovers: they have mocha flavour, too, and it´s just yummy.
To sum it all up, my first week on the diet has not been bad at all. Was I hungry? Yes, a bit, until I realized that I forgot I could eat whatever vegetables I wanted between the protein meals. My own mistake.
Did I see any progress? You bet I did! After 7 days I lost 2.5 kg (5,5 pounds). Made me feel great and determined to go on.
